You’ve thought about getting into off-road riding… but doing it alone feels like a gamble. Wrong route. Wrong terrain. Too much bike. Not enough confidence. That’s exactly why we built WYCO Foundations.
This isn’t a typical tour—it’s a purpose-built ride designed to help you learn, build confidence, and actually enjoy your first real off-road experience. No guesswork. No pressure. Just steady progression and a good ride.
Built for Riders Like You
Waypoints West Wyco Foundations is a great fit if:
You’re a great fit for WYCO Foundations if:
You’re confident on pavement but new to riding off-road
You’ve tried dirt riding but never felt fully in control
You’re riding (or planning to ride) a mid- or large-sized ADV bike
You want to build real skills—not just survive the ride
You stay seated when things get rough
Loose terrain makes you uneasy (gravel, sand, rock)
You avoid using the front brake off pavement
You get worn out quickly riding off-road
You rely mostly on throttle instead of balanced control
This is not the best fit if:
You’re comfortable on dirt
You are ready for next level of dirt riding
You like speed and technical riding (check out our other rides)
If you’re not sure, we’ll talk it through. That’s what we do.
Wide-open dirt, forest tracks, and alpine views — a confidence-building backcountry ride that feels remote without feeling reckless.
Why WYCO Foundations Works
Most adventure tours assume you already know what you’re doing.
We don’t.
We built this ride to help you learn while you ride, without feeling overwhelmed or left behind.
Here’s how:
Shorter ride days so you can focus on learning—not just keeping up
Basecamp format (no packing every morning) so you can actually progress
Small groups (max 8 riders) for real attention and coaching
Support built in so you’re never guessing what’s next
You don’t need to figure this out alone. That’s the whole point.
Your Home Base
We base out of Spirit West Bed & Breakfast, so you’re not bouncing between hotels every night.
That means:
More time riding
More time learning
More time recovering
You’ll have a solid place to reset each day—with breakfast handled and everything staged for the next ride.
Simple. Comfortable. Dialed.
Coaching—Without the Classroom Feel
This isn’t a formal training course—but you’ll learn more here than you expect.
On the bike (every day):
Body position & standing confidence
Throttle + brake control (yes, including front brake off-road)
Cornering on dirt and gravel
Handling climbs, descents, and loose terrain
Off the bike (when it matters):
Navigation that actually works (GPS + apps)
Tire repair and trailside basics
What to carry—and what not to
Bike setup and prep
Recovery techniques
It’s all practical. No fluff. No overcomplication.
Start Before You Even Arrive
Every rider gets access to Chris Birch’s “Say No to Slow” training program before the trip.
It’s one of the best ADV training systems out there—and it gives you a head start before day one.
Show up already understanding the basics, and you’ll progress faster on the ride.
What to Expect on the Trail
This ride is designed to build confidence—not wear you out.
Mostly easy gravel and unpaved roads
Select step-up sections as your skills improve
4–5 hours of ride time per day
Plenty of breaks, coaching, and time to reset
You should arrive able to ride a full day at about 60–70% effort.
This isn’t about pushing limits.
It’s about building them.

-
Yes — it’s designed as an ~80% dirt route with mixed surfaces and big, open terrain.
-
Nope. Optional means optional. Always.
-
This is adventure riding. We will ride rain or shine. We adapt routes as needed. The goal is a great ride — not forcing a plan that doesn’t match conditions.
-
Our tours are priced with a minimum group size of 6 riders. If we end up with fewer riders, pricing may be adjusted so the ride can still go forward. We’ll always communicate any changes clearly, and our priority is to keep your adventure on schedule.

We sure do. Check out our Wyoming Adventure tours.
