Meet the Enablers: Adventure Experts at Waypoints West Moto
Our guides have decades of combined experience riding and scouting Western backcountry routes, including the Colorado, Idaho, South Dakota and Wyoming BDRs.
Mark Bolton
Owner & Founder
Mark Bolton has spent a lifetime chasing the good stuff β the kind of adventure that smells like pine, dust, jet fuel, and possibility. He cut his teeth on dirt bikes, graduated to technical singletrack, and eventually took on the infamous Tour of Idaho becauseβ¦ of course he did.
His path hasnβt exactly been straight. One minute heβs on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, the next heβs working offshore rigs, building telecom networks in China, or standing on top of twelve Colorado 14ers wondering what route he can explore next. Heβs mountain-biked the Rockies for more than 25 years, dipped a toe (or tire) into car and drag racing, and even trekked to Everest Base Camp for good measure.
If thereβs a common theme, itβs this: Mark is wired for exploration. Two wheels, four wheels, no wheels β he just loves the adventure. And that relentless curiosity is exactly what he brings to every Waypoints West tour..
Trevor Bolton
Trevor Bolton doesnβt sit still β and honestly, weβre not sure he ever has. He started drag racing at eight years old, because apparently βnormal childhood hobbiesβ werenβt exciting enough. By fourteen, heβd earned his Eagle Scout rank, already showing the kind of leadership and outdoor savvy most riders donβt pick up until much later.
At seventeen, he trekked to Everest Base Camp β just casually adding βthe Himalayasβ to his rΓ©sumΓ© β and heβs been stacking adventures ever since. Dirt bikes, mountain bikes, rock climbingβ¦ if it involves grit, skill, and a little bit of risk, Trevorβs in.
Now Trevor brings that same fearless energy and passion for the outdoors to Waypoints West. He rides hard, laughs easy, and inspires everyone around him to push just a little further down the trail..

Heβs been there β and heβs even tackled the WY and CO BDRs two-up.

Erin Barajas
Erin brings a rare mix of creative talent and adventure grit to the Waypoints crew. When sheβs not shaping the stories behind our rides, sheβs out chasing her own β usually somewhere in the mountains with her husband and two teenage boys, a camera in hand, and a camp chair thatβs seen a lot of miles.
Her love of exploration fuels her work and her photography, giving everything she touches that spark of real-world adventure. Erin doesnβt just help tell the Waypoints story β she lives it.

Why waypoints west moto adventures
Weβre a family-owned crew of moto addicts who know that a great ride doesnβt happen by accident β it takes planning, experience, and the kind of attention to detail you only get from people who genuinely love this stuff. Waypoints West Moto grew out of a lifetime of chasing adventure and learning the highs, lows, and βwellβ¦ that was unexpectedβ moments that come with it. Our mission is simple: over-deliver every time so you canβt wait to ride with us again.
Based in Berthoud, Colorado, weβre an hour north of Denver and just a scenic 45-minute rip up Big Thompson Canyon from Rocky Mountain National Park.
With a passion for two wheels and decades exploring the mountains and deserts of the West, weβre here to share the routes we love and the adventures that keep us coming back. Come ride with us β the mountains are calling.
Weβre kind of a big deal

A post from a friend in ADV Rider:
βThe pic of the bike only is on the Geyser Pass road at at elevation on 10,650 feet. It was 98 degrees in Moab and 51 degrees at the pass. That was a cool experience; pun intended!β
